Answering God’s Call
Meet Dennis Stofer
Dennis Stofer was brought up in church and heard the Gospel preached from the time he was born.
One month before his 18th birthday, Dennis responded to the Gospel and gave his life to God. Shortly afterward, he committed himself to serving the Lord.
He attended Bible college and earned a degree in Theology, wanting to be better equipped to serve Jesus Christ.
Dennis has now been involved in ministry for 45 years.
God’s Call to Peru
Dennis first traveled to Peru in December 1998.
He had married Consuela, a Peruvian woman who had moved to the United States in 1997. During his first visit to her homeland, Dennis saw the tremendous spiritual need among the people, and God touched his heart.
Dennis and his wife continued returning to Peru every year or two for two- or three-week visits.
But the call never went away. Dennis to finally answer it.
In 2022, he retired early so he could devote himself to full-time missionary work.
Today, Dennis spends approximately three to four weeks in Peru at the beginning of each quarter of the year, ministering in the mountains and rainforest and returning home to his wife between trips.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

His Family
Dennis has been married to his Consuela for more than 29 years.
She continues to support him in his missionary work while maintaining her full-time job in the United States. Because of her work, she is not currently able to accompany Dennis to Peru.
Her support has been an important part of Dennis’ ability to answer God’s call.
His Mission
Dennis believes God’s calling is clear:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them… Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.”
Matthew 28:19–20
And:
“…ye shall be witnesses unto me… unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8
For Dennis, that calling means leaving home and family for extended periods, traveling into remote mountain villages and the rainforest, and telling people about Jesus Christ and what He did so that they could be forgiven of their sins and have eternal life.
But the work doesn’t stop when someone receives Christ.
Dennis believes he has an obligation to teach God’s Word and help new believers grow spiritually so that they can reach others.
That is the heart of Jesus in Peru.
